After more than 15 years working in the event industry, I’ve had the opportunity to experience events from just about every angle, from working on the 2010 Olympics and the Celebration of Light, to catering, banquets, weddings, and corporate celebrations. I’ve seen firsthand what makes an event unforgettable, and just as importantly, what can make the planning process unnecessarily complicated.

That’s why I created Prickly Events.

I wanted to build an event rental and production company that takes the guesswork out of creating incredible events. No fuss, no endless searching, and no wondering whether all the little details will come together. Prickly Events is designed to be a one stop resource for clients who want their event to feel intentional, polished, and completely their own, from planning and styling to graphic design, rentals, production, and even accommodation booking.

And yes, there’s a story behind the name.

Years ago, a teacher described me as a “prickly person.” At the time, it made me laugh, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it actually fit. I’m a no nonsense kind of planner. I ask the hard questions, pay attention to the details, and stand firmly by my values and high standards when it comes to production and curation.

Being “prickly” means I care about doing things properly. It means having a point of view, protecting the vision, and never settling for good enough when something can be exceptional.

Prickly Events is for people who want their events to look effortless, because behind the scenes, someone is making sure every detail is anything but.
